Vauxhall Motors have submitted two applications for the installation of solar panels on the roof of their existing warehouse they are :- CB/15/03550/FULL and CB/15/03624/PASP. The combined power output will be approximately 6MW and will provide some 50% of the warehouse power usage.
Lodge Farm, Sundon Road have submitted application CB/15/01419/FULL for a two storey side and rear extension.
GM have submitted application CB/15/00979/FULL for the Erection of Distribution Centre with associated office accommodation, access, earthworks, landscaping, parking and ancillary works.
This application includes the construction of 30,000 m2 and a 5,000 m2 warehouses
7 Blacksmith Common have submitted a planning application CB/1500054/FULL for a two-storey front and single-storey rear extension.
The Willows development plans CB/14/04817/FULL and CB/14/04818/LB for three new houses and a large extension to The Willows have been resubmitted.
A screening application CB/14/04541/SCN has been received from Vauxhall Motors for a 31,000 square metre warehouse extension and heavy truck refuelling station. It is intended that these would be constructed upon completion of the new motorway junction.
A planning application has been received by Chalgrave parish Council for a solar panel farm. The panels some 98,000 of them will be installed on land between the Bounds Way bridle path and Chalgrave Manor. As can be seen on documents submitted to Central Beds. planning (application no CB/14/01480) the solar panels will cover most of this land.
Chalton Parish Council have not been directly informed of this planning application by Central Beds but intend that it will be discussed at the next parish council meeting on Monday September 15th.
The Parish Council and many residents objected. CBC following a short debate at a planning committee meeting voted seven / two to grant planning permission.
Peak Power Generation Facility
A planning application was received in May 2014 for the construction of a 16MW diesel engine power station to be erected on land owned by Anglian Water at the entrance to their sewage works.
Following discussion at the Parish Council AGM many parishioners wrote to object. Our objections were also noted by Central Beds councillors and the application has been withdrawn.
