Melchbourne and Yelden villages are on the northern edge of Bedfordshire. The principal authority is Bedford Borough Council and services include providing allotments, street lighting, Highways liaison, planning consultation and maintaining public spaces. Millbrook Parish Meeting has administrative responsibility for the small parish of Millbrook. We meet twice a year in May and October. Millbrook is a small village of about 150 residents situation on the Greensand Ridge overlooking the Marston Vale.

Old Warden Parish Council is a group of seven councillors currently formed from the residents of Old Warden who work together with Central Bedfordshire Council to provide local services such as environmental management, liaison with and support of local organisations.
